About The Artist James Vincent Devine was born with God given artistic talent. He has been painting and drawing award winning works since grade school. His early years of painting and drawing earned top awards at his high school, county fairs, and amateur art contests. He pursued an education in fine arts, commercial art and marketing. In 1988 he earned a Bachelors Degree with Honors in Marketing from the University of Wyoming. His artistic talent has been used extensively in his career sweeping through print layout, copywriting, commercial art and design! However, Vincent never gave up his devotion for painting. In the spring of 1998 he began painting consistently every week and has steadily increased the number of hours devoted to this work. Vincent has excelled in portraiture, and kept his skills fresh and alive through landscapes and some abstracts. His piece titled "Pot of Dreams" won - Best of Show - at the Arts 2004 Cheyenne Artists Guild - All Members Show. He is married with four children. Vincent explained "I have turned painting nights into family time. We cover the table with newspaper and everybody breaks out the paint. We make a huge mess and drive Mom crazy, but I must say this has become one of the most fulfilling things of my life. When I paint I feel God's pleasure." |
